Who can participate in the International Abacus Olympiad?
Any student learning abacus, from Junior Level through Level 8, is welcome to take part — individually or through their school or academy.
Is the Olympiad online or offline?
Both. IAO runs a large-scale Online Olympiad plus Offline events at partner centres, so students can take part in whichever format suits them.
Do I need to pay to get practice material?
No. Official IAO practice papers are available as a free downloadable PDF on our Practice Paper page.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes — every participant receives a certificate, and top performers are awarded trophies and medals.
